Swallowtail - Watercolour Challenge #TGIFC06

Hi Stamping Buddies,
Here's my card that I made for the TGIFC06Watercolour Challenge and for my beautiful friend Judy, who really needed some Hugs. xox
I have always wanted to try using the beautiful Swallowtail Stamp from Stampin’Up! With a watercolour technique.
I have used Shimmery White card stock on this card as I found it works really well when embossing and watercolouring.  Firstly I swiped the card stock with the Embossing Buddy and then stamped the Swallowtail stamp on Shimmery white card stock in Versamark.  I covered the stamped image with Silver Embossing Powder, tapped the edge to remove any excess powder and used the Heat Tool to melt the powder.  If you've never embossed with any metallic embossing powders, it's truly an instant “WOW” moment. It’s goes from being dull to bursting into this bright and shiny image! (Love it).

I started by adding a drop of reinker to the lid of these inkpads:  Soft Sky, Pool Party and Marina Mist.  Using an Aqua Painter, I picked up Soft Sky ink and went over the entire image.  Be careful to not let too much water pool on the paper. Next, I added some Pool Party ink. I'm going for a graduated blue color here. Last, I used the Marina Mist ink.  Lightly wipe the image with tissue to remove any excess ink. I then layered the design onto another piece of Shimmery White card. The layers are attached to each other and the card front using Tombo GlueYou could make this in so many different ways - you're only limited by your imagination.

Thanks For Stopping By!
