Freshly Made Sketches 132

Hi Stampers, Jen B from freshly made sketches  DT has created a lovely design template this week. I wanted to keep my card clean and simply, so I used a flower from Stampin’ Up’s Flower Shop stamp set. A little brad and some twine added a little touch of elegance. The colours used were Sahara Sand and Elegant Eggplant. I just love how these colours work well together. I’m heading to Melbourne for Stampin’ Up’s annual convention in May and have been using the various card challenges for some inspiration.

Freshly Made Sketches # 131

Hi Stampers,  freshly made sketches  have come up with a twist in this weeks challenge to keep it clean-lined and fresh! So for this challenge I used the Happy Watercolour Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! as I thought it fitted the brief and is  one of my favourites stamp sets. I stamped the splash of paint stamp from the set three times 

without reinking it. I’m right into the rustic feel at the moment and think the colours worked well together while creating a clean- line. I also added a touch of scripted in crumb cake which is a little tip I learnt from my very talented Up-Line Teneale Williams.  I really loved making this card and for a "little twist" of my own I added the Candy Dots to the centre of each flower. I kept the sentiment very simple with a little thanks!

Just Add Ink # 209 - Just Add Layers

Hello everyone,  
The Just Add Ink challenge this week is all about layers and I love it! For those who don't know me, I really struggle to create a single layered card, so found this challenge exciting. It truly got my creative juices flowing at last. I actually lost count as to how many layers I used but I think it was about 7 or 8. I started out using Crumb cake as my card base and it grew from there. The Stamp Sets I used are Stampin'Up! Baby, We've Grown & Tape it. I also used their Embossing Folders - Alphabet Press & Stripes. I just love how their products co-ordinates with each other.


I encourage you to play along with JAI challenges as they are a great way to help you get creative and it's really lots of fun!

It’s hard to believe that this year’s Sale-a-Bration is almost over. With only 15 days left to earn free products with every $90 you purchase. Looking back over all the items I got during this promotion, I think I liked the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper the best.  I used it often and I wish it would be carried over to the new catalogue.  It’s so versatile and the colors are just beautiful.  I used it to create lots of great cards and gift boxes. In this card I used my scrap pieces to punch out the flowers and some glitter brads. I plan to give this card to my beautiful neighbour Linda who helped me after my recent surgery.

Just Add Ink - Christmas Project Challenge # 196

Hi Bloggers - Hope everyone had a wonderful Xmas with their loved ones. Christmas is such a special time of the year for my family. 

The latest Just Add Ink Challenge allowed me to showcase a christmas card that I made a little while ago. It could be mass produced easily which helped me to get my Xmas Cards out on time this year.  I try not to use retired SU products but I just couldn't part with this  Stamp Set as it's one of my favourites.

Products used: include  Occasional Quotes & the fabulous Merry and Type stamp sets from SU. Plus don't you just love the mini frames embossing folder. The only other things used to create this elegant card was some ribbon and dazzling diamonds glitter. It  really was a very quick and easy Christmas card to make and that's a good thing when you need to get things done quickly.
